“Neck free (or free your neck), head forward and up, back to lengthen and widen” and, very importantly, “knees to go forward and away.”
He said to me, “If I stand beside you and say those words, you can’t go wrong. But I can’t be with you all the time so you’ve got to learn to do that for yourself.”
I’ve never forgotten that. And he repeated that to me several times over the years.
It shows, I think, how important he considered it was to verbalize the orders, and indeed sometimes he’d get you to say them out loud to make sure you’d got them.
