Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Marketing?
Hi Guys!
I thought it might be interesting and useful for us to get together and talk about the kinds of things we’re all doing to get the word out about our Alexander teaching.
After decades of sporting a proud, and almost fanatical “starving artist mindset”, I’m beginning to come to a different way of thinking about marketing as a result of studying people like Seth Godin, who defines marketing as:
“The generous act of helping someone solve a problem. Their problem. Marketing helps others become who they seek to become.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but that’s a definition I can live with because it sounds a whole heck of a lot like teaching to me!
So…
As a result of acquainting myself with the work of enlightened marketers like Seth Godin, Jay Abraham, Andre Chaperon, Dan Kennedy and Rich Schefren,
I’m beginning to think about marketing as a kind of “pre-teaching” that is…
A way of presenting the Alexander Technique that speaks to their pressing issues, allows them to directly experience what we have to offer, and instills in them confidence in their own ability to solve whatever problems may arise.
That’s how I’m thinking about marketing these days.
So…
If this sounds interesting to you and you’re willing to share a little bit about how you have been experiencing marketing and about the kinds of things you’re doing these days to reach out to students, that’s great!

Well…That’s it for now…I hope to see you there (It’s going to be fun!)
